What's Included in Support Your Feet and Ankles?

My Body Vitality Method considers each part of our body as an imprtant part of the whole. As such, this workshop helps us flex our inner muscles, our outer muscles, and, of course, our communal muscles, since our feet take us so many places in the company of others. 

This 55 minute workshop is offered in brief segments. i recommend that you give yourself time to do the entire workshop once all the way through. You will discover that particular segments speak to your feet, calves, knees, and hips in different ways. Then, I recommend that you focus on just the areas that feel most important to your body! 

Support for Your Feet and Ankles is a Five-Part Workshop

👣 Part 1: Feel Your Breath -- 4 minutes
    This grounding breath work connects your feet to your brain and lets it know that your feet will soon be better off.
👣 Part 2: Notice Your Feet and Ankles -- 8 minutes
     You'll move and massage your feet in unique ways that will wake up your toes and every part of your feet.
👣 Part 3: Rolling Out Your Feet  -- 10 minutes
      Using a tennis ball or massage ball you'll learn how to give your feet a complete massage from heel to toe. Unbelievable! 
👣 Part 4: Rolling Out Your Shins, Calves, and Ankles -- 22 minutes. 
   This is the pot of gold for your body! Your shins, calves, and ankles support your knees, hips and your core. 
👣 Part 5: Moving Dynamically and Building Strength -- 14 minutes. 
     Now you are ready to connect your feet to your knees and your hips through whole body movement. Everything about your day will go better after mobilizing your self in this way! 

What you need for this course:

  • Props: You will need a chair, a yoga mat, and a yoga block. You will also need a sliding surface for a few foot movements. For carpeted floors, you can use a plastic garbage bag and for wooden floors you can use a towel.
  • And, for this workshop/course, you will use 2 of the self-massage balls that come in the Yoga Tune Up® Roll Model Starter set – the Plus balls and the original balls.  I use all of these balls in most of my courses, so it’s a good idea to order them and have them on hand.

  • If you don’t have YogaTuneUp balls, you can use 2 tennis balls in a sock. Please don’t use anything hard on your body!
